Appendectomy

Appendectomy is the removal of the appendix, usually when it is infected.

Technical
The procedure is performed by laparoscopy in 98% of cases. However, it is sometimes necessary, in case of difficulties or the occurrence of a complication during the procedure, to abandon laparoscopy to go into laparotomy with a localized opening to the right or median way.

Amygdales

  • Les amygdales sont deux masses de tissu situées de chaque côté de l’arrière de la gorge. Les amygdales peuvent grossir en réaction à des infections récurrentes des amygdales ou à des angines streptococciques. Elles peuvent également devenir un réservoir à bactéries.
    Pourquoi votre enfant a-t-il besoin d’une amygdalectomie?
    L’amygdalectomie signifie l’ablation des amygdales au cours d’une opération. Certains enfants peuvent avoir besoin d’une amygdalectomie s’ils :
  • ont souvent des infections des amygdales
  • ont de grosses amygdales qui bloquent les voies aériennes. De grosses amygdales rendent la respiration difficile et peuvent même provoquer des pauses dans la respiration (apnée).

Hare’s beak

The cleft lip is a malformation of the mouth that is due to a defect of fusion of the inner nasal bud and maxillary massive superior to the 5th week of the intrauterine life.
It can be partial and touch only the lip or total and touch the gum and the palate.

It can be unilateral (often left) or bilateral, symmetrical or asymmetrical, total or partial.
The diagnosis can be done early (around the 4th or 5th month) thanks to prenatal ultrasound.
Surgery intervenes from birth:
4th month for lip and gum (simple hare beak)
5th month for the nose, lip and soft palate
Around the 16th month for the vault of the palate (the bone part)

Circoncision

La circoncision est un acte qui consiste à retirer le prépuce, le petit bout de peau qui recouvre le gland, l’extrémité du pénis
Il existe deux types de circoncisions :
La circoncision rituelle qui est pratiquée pour des raisons coutumières ou d’appartenance ethnique ou religieuse, comme c’est le cas dans la religion juive et la religion musulmane.
La circoncision médicale qui peut être indiquée en cas de phimosis – quand l’anneau du prépuce, peau qui recouvre le gland devient trop étroit – mais aussi lors de balanites (infections du gland) ou encore d’infections urinaires.
