Thrombosis (arterial or venous) is a condition in which blood clots (or thrombi) form in the vessels and partially obstruct them.
Venous thrombosis is an obstruction of the veins (usually deep veins), and arterial thromboses, obstruction of arteries, which can lead to an infarction or stroke (stroke).
